Specialised shoes, Shimano cleats. Only really started being a problem recently and have been good as gold for 6 months or so. Now I just can’t keep the cleat on the right foot still. Makes getting off in a hurry a bit exciting at times. Has anyone got a fix for this or is it simply a case of wear and tear on the mounting area and new shoes are needed (they still look like new).

    Youve tightened them up?

Should last years if properly fitted.

Afraid I will strip the threads or shear the bolt if I tighten them any more! They are still plenty tight after they move

Put some copperslip on the bolts and tighten to correct torque with a wrench. Shouldn’t move.

Done that. Shouldn’t move… but do. Only on the one side

You could try inserting a shim of some sport betwixt cleat and shoe. Crank Bros do one that would work. If you can’t locate one near you, I’m sure I could find one to send you.

You’ve shagged the contact areas then? Pics?

Clean and roughen the contact area on the shoe?
Is the sole cracked & flexing where you can’t see it!?

I will investigate further. @ Scotroutes, I will look into the shims option if that seems to be the only answer. Thank you for the offer. Will see how it pans out.
