Does anyone have any decent tips regarding waterproof jacket repair? I’ve a couple of tears in the shoulder of my riding jacket. I’ve put up with them for summer showers, but think they need repairing before the rain gets serious.

I’ve seen a couple of sticky patches you can get, are they any good?

    Cheers folks 🙂

    1. Apply an appropriate amount of ducktape.
    2. Iron duck taped area.

Disclaimer. Ehrm…. don’t melt the jacket.

Glue a patch of similar coloured material on. Sailing jackets I’ve repaired had spare material included. If you are fussy you can write to manufacturer and ask for some material.

Without wishing to take the mickey black duct tape or a large puncture patch are fine for black jacket.

I know that it’s not a reply to your question, but if the jacket is good enough I’d suggest considering a proper repair. I have used Scottish Mountain Gear several times now (suggests that I am careless, but I do get into some scrapes outdoors) and have been pleased with repairs to a softshell, a Gore-Tex hardshell and to a rucksack. Just a suggestion, may be totally useless for which I apologise in advance
