In amongst all the Bah Humbug attitude, gross commercialism, and family wars, I’m sure some of us had a most excellent Christmas 🙂

    Highlights from mine included:

Cycling on Christmas Day in torrential rain, and having two punctures, but still loving it 🙂

Getting some absolutely brilliantly inappropriate presents – especially my new space hopper and a faux fur leopardskin dog poobag holder!

Doing my first ever Time Trial on Boxing Day – and being the fastest woman!

So come on, share the highlights of your Christmas …

Cooking Christmas Lunch for 13 of us. Never catered for so many before and it was a rip-roaring success. Obviously seeing the children’s faces on Christmas morning was a joy followed by bacon bagels. Much nommage.

All things considered, a great Christmas. Despite bring dairn sairf for the last week at the outlaws this year has been a roaring success. The kids have loved spending time with cousins that they rarely see and I’m pleasantly pissed after three hours in one of the finest boozers I’ve been in in many a year ( hospital arms in Colchester).

did a 27 hour shift on-call. Usual NWR no alcohol rule.

Thought no to that, got pissed and set phone to voicemail. No messages = winner!

Getting home from parents/out-laws this afternoon, lighting the fire, leaving mini-DBW to play with his playmobil and having a kip.
Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 from now until Wednesday with a bit of adding biking on Saturday and Tuesday 😀

My 3 year old nephew not wanting me to go home, closely followed by him breaking the teapot on Christmas eve, and immediately going to find his toy tea set to offer it to his mum to use instead.

There was also a bit of time spent measuring him up and letting him choose what colour islabike he wants for his 4th birthday 🙂

Lots of mtb and road riding, cool gifts, good food, and unusually from yesterday onwards some time to myself. Very pleasant and relaxing!

Just the three of us at home. No visitors, no visiting, just a quiet, pleasant time. And cheese, lots of cheese.

Bravely invited my Mum and Dad to Chrimbo dinner. They were actually quite good company.

Mine was the best one I can remember. Hosted a couple of great parties and saw lots of friends, cooked/ate lots of really nice stuff without feeling too stuffed/greedy, played an awesome sold out gig with my band where loads of my mates saw us for the first time (and loved it), had a really nice chilled Xmas day.

Have had a great 5 days (not that I’m counting….) with the outlaws.

Kids have had a great time with uncles and grandparents, we’ve had a couple of half days to get out walking/shopping/restauranting at an adults only pace.

Best bit has to be my 5yo daughters face when Father Christmas knocked at the door on Christmas morning at 9.30 to say he’d found a couple of presents for her left in the sleigh that must have been missed – she was beginning to doubt it all this year (older brother) but she was proper awe-struck. (Big up to the local Rotary club for doing this every year down here)

Can’t wait to get home tomorrow – 26 miles short of last years cycling mileage total, time is ticking and I’m coming down with man-flu…..

Yes all in all very good and finally got out on the bike before cabin fever set in, did a regular 16 mile loop from my door around Great Orme and back and it killed me, be thinking twice about a Dawn till Dusk MTB ride on the 30th

Awesome Christmas, went to see the in-laws in Harrogate. Were down to just 2 men now after my FIL and gfs cousin’s husband died this year.

3 of us took over cooking duties and turned out 15 dishes for 11 people plus ham and a 3 bird roast.

They’re all such genuinely lovely people and even after 4 days I wasn’t itching to leave. I’m looking forward too a blast round llandegla tomorrow though.

Seeing my 3 year old boys face when her saw his Mini Cooper battery operated car in the kitchen! It was a 2nd bargin and he was do excited. To be honest, the thing the kids have had the most fun with day after day is a Whoopee cushion. A real Bronx cheer.

Playing “Inspiration” with relatives. Some reads out an answer, we all have to make up a question. Every one making up stupid stuff for laughs and not trying to win. Sister nearly dieing laughing reading stuff out. 78 year old aunt making up great gags. Really thought I was ging to suffocate laughing. Even my teenage kids crying laughing at my jokes. It really doesn’t get better than that.

Boxing day being over taken by a man on his Christmas present carbon hybrid, whilst i was on my ancient slicked hard tail. Not being able to avoid catching him up again and then finally passing him whilst free wheeling

What Drac said- first one off in 4 years, waking up and not having to work, watching the smile on my three year olds face as he unwrapped his presents, drinking till early with my in laws.. Oh aye, seeing my own mum, family and nephews on Christmas Day was great too!
Haven’t been on the bike at all but that’s not unusual since son no 2 arrived a few months ago.
Back at work tonight but still smiling thinking about the last few days..

12 whole days off work – I’m hanging out with my dogs, riding my bike, watching movies, eating nice things, drinking nice things, playing my recorder. Happy.

Bro and family joined us from the US so my 3 nieces and nephews. Add in another 12 friends and a 30 degree day of blistering sun with beach cricket and wharf jumping. Big BBQ, champers, beer, wine and far too much Malt with a big singalong at 2am which resulted in my new neighbors joining us as it sounded too much fun !
    Top notch.
Last Xmas kid less as well, first due in 3 weeks, properly sh1tt1ng myself.

Both adult children home for Saturday to Christmas Eve. European style Christmas Eve dinner as my daughter had to work on Christmas Day. Family and friends dropped in during the evening as well, it doesn’t get much better.
Blagging free drinks at the pub my daughter had to work in and passing them off to my future son-in-law as we had to drive home.
The dog playing with a huge soft chew toy we bought him. A quackier and 4 speakers are hidden within it, so much noise and destruction.

wouldn’t say it was ‘amazing’ but was very nice 🙂 I’m desperate to do Christmas next year for my family but mum still likes christmas at home so we go there. So this year I am doing ‘christmas’ dinner for family on NY eve. Except with beef …… and at tea time. But I want to feel like a proper grown up so I’m going to do it ‘christmas’ style and decorate the table and get some party poppers 🙂

Mellow family time here, some runs/walks but mostly catching up with brother and his Mrs and their kids.

A few Leffes and films. Trading places a high point.

Average this year-can’t complain, but nothing stands out as memorable. Xmas night was nice actually. I just really needed some time away from work.
