Sorry mate, that comes across trite, pedantic and immature all at once. I mean that with the greatest respect but you need to perhaps stop now.
Judging by the snowstorm that hit us on the south coast on Friday, bringing many roads to a standstill, I’d be amazed if the parcel left Portsmouth that day, let alone weather (sic) there was a flight to get it to Scotland for the next day. Act of God!
Amazing how quickly the abuse starts ! The op’s rant is a bit over the top, and I’ve had good service from
UKBS as well. But the op’s basic point is valid. I needed a part for my mx bike so I could race sunday, paid a load of money for ” guaranteed ” saturday delivery. No part came I couldn’t race. Don’t guarantee if you can’t deliver.
FFS you have expectation of others, demanding the foresight of the gods, that you fail in yourself. A bit of self flagellation is in order for you.
Problem is what you in your mind think guaranteed means is not what it actually means in the outside world. Rather like fully insured or fully guaranteed – it doesnt exist. Known as small print.
Op go back to UK bike store website read the page titled delivery and realise that they clearly state next day delivery subject to ordering prior to 330pm and the item being in stock, they also clearly state that they do try to keep site upto date with stock levels ( and by implication sometimes will fail to indicate out of stock). If you placed an order with them you agreed to the t&c’s offerd. Their delivery terms are common to most retailers. Well done for bad mouthing a decent business on FALSE grounds, you are a fool.
Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Post £1.00
Interlink EP1 Next Working Day £4.99
Royal Mail Special Del 1pm £6.84
Royal Mail Special Saturday Delivery £9.08
RMSD Next Day Before 9am £15.06
ANC/Fedex Saturday Delivery £15.32
If you wanted Saturday delivery it would have cost you £9.08 or more.
Always had good service from them so no warning needed IMHO. So you ordered stuff the weekend of massive disruption due to snow and expect no problems – get real.
Is it just me but does the OP not sell an awful lot of high end bikes and kit. On a wage of £7 per hour that’s quite impressive. How do you manage to buy in all of that ‘stock’?
Ease up ladies. He ain’t trying to say he’s the biggest victim ever, he’s just pissed off that he paid for a service that he didn’t receive.
We’ve all been there, he just needed his focus redirecting. You’ve done that, he don’t need abusing for it even if there are dieing children in the world.
Problem is what you in your mind think guaranteed means is not what it actually means in the outside world. Rather like fully insured or fully guaranteed – it doesnt exist. Known as small print
Indeed, you pay for a guaranteed service. The plane delivering your bit crashes, so the item doesn’t turn up. Your service is still guaranteed.
If you buy a TV it’s guaranteed if it works or not. A guarantee can’t cover something ‘happening’.
Deny everything and then report anybody who dare suggest he was a crooked scumbag? then wait for the rules to be changed so he can get back to selling without having his ad spoilt?
Anyone suggesting that they wouldn’t be annoyed at paying for a service and not receiving it, is full of crap.
There are ways of dealing with things though and this is not an example of one of those ways. I would imagine the reason they didn’t offer any customer service was that he probably spoke to them in a way, similar to the attitude in the original post.
There’s is some diabolical spelling on this thread.
I use UK bike store often, they are always excellent.
Bit of a storm in a tea cup this. One wonders why you might post this thread in the first place given the STW sympathy edict regarding such matters, eg you’ll find it between shit and syphilus in the dictionary if your looking for it. 🙂
Special Delivery A refund of your Special Delivery™ fee/postage if your item arrives later than the due time of delivery. Claims must be submitted within 14 days of posting.
For Special Delivery™ Next Day, additional compensation of £5 if the item is delivered more than 24 hours (Mon-Fri) after the guaranteed time. Or an additional £10 if delivered 7 or more working days (Mon-Fri) after the guaranteed time. Evidence of posting is required. If the sender is claiming they must apply within 3 months of posting. If the recipient is claiming they must apply within 1 month of receipt.
That would indicate that as the recipient you can also claim. Yes you should have to but did you politely ask for details so you could claim it back? Also IF you did pay for next day then you should make an extra £5 in compensation. I think this, along with what is left of the £7 refund after you forward on the bearing to the new owner should be sent to either the buyer of your bike or a charity.
You really need to take a look at how you act. Yes you should get your postage back but I see you’ve been posting this all over the internet. All over £7 and all you are really out of pocket is a couple of £ it’s going to cost you to forward the bearing.
did you check your order status online?
I ordered some stuff from them on Monday and something wasn’t available (despite being in stock on the website) so I didn’t get my stuff next day, like I’d paid for. I got an email on Wednesday saying that it had been dispatched and would be delivered Thursday.
So I didn’t get what I wanted but I’m not acting like I’ve got sand in my mangina.
Ordered on Thursday 18th , Saturday special delivery
Post has created awareness regardless of the content, so im happy with that, been shot down in flames, absolutely! i sure have, but its amazing how many strangers judge people they dont know and make up their own version of events, and people call me a bellend, well lets face it, we all are at times, and this is mine 😉 theres been plenty bellends joining in too. But you know having bought a fair amount of stuff from bike shops ive seen my fair share of mistakes with orders, just sometimes its one too many and you get fed up with it.
I have found the thread highly amusing from my perspective as you have from yours,i mean someone has a wee moan, stating fact and next minute they are lying and dragging a good companies name down! what else have we had? name calling, and yet i was accused of pot kettle black lol, what else? oh yes picking up on grammer and spelling, I fully appologise,as we all know this is the place for formal affairs, correct spelling and grammer is a must or we get banned.
Honestly, like a little pack of wolves some of you, too scared to break away from the pack,Its facinating to watch how people react and interect with each other, i never do get tired of it. To those who did speak up for me in ways, thank you, its good to know there are still nice people out there 🙂
Nuff said, i dont want to goad people on any longer, The post was to create awareness and boy did people get sucked into that regardless of the content, as an argument, yes i concede defeat but this topic died at the first post 😉
The waterbending ant pic is superb! However, this:

Is probably the most sensible thing written so far. If you want something from somebody, you are more likely to get it if you are nice. Unless we are talking about women….. in which case I believe the opposite is true.
