Something from the likes of Howies maybe. There used to be a US brand called Scapegoat which was owned by Prana and did pretty much exactly what you're after – but no-one wanted it and they closed down earlier this year. Most outdoor brands make stuff that looks, well, outdoory really. But have a look at some of the Berghaus Ator range of stuff which is supposed to be more crossover – this stuff.

Finisterre is what you want.

Nope, he doesn't want to look like a rambler. Howies make waterproof stuff. It's an option. Fatface had a technical range for a while, not sure it still exists any more though.

Musto do some nice stuff, well worth a look as they're less rambler than many!
