Depends on which office. Solicitors yes, call centre maybe not so much (I work for a firm of Solicitors and it’s not uncommon)

Standard STW wear is brown cords, Merrel trainers, check shirt and Rab puffer jacket so sartorial advice is a little biased.

It depends on the weather and the shirt. If double cuff then really should be with a jacket unless it’s hot, then you can get away with it as long as you are not at a smart place. Also no silly patterns like comedy ties which are just tragic.

don’t wear them myself, but i don’t see why anyone else shouldn’t if they want. same goes for any clothes, really. wear what you want, and don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks about it.

+1 although that was mainly to dramatically reduce the area of my shirts that had to be ironed.

Not on the set of ‘A Christmas Carol’ it’s not.

Only wear at weddings, but I do find the waistcoat very practical for keeping a gentle control upon a rapidly expanding waistline.

My Mum got me quite a fancy shiny paisley one 20 odd years ago, I’m waiting for the right moment to wear it.

You may wear a waistcoat by all mean, but the ladies in the office will secretly think you look like a dick. Or they may even tell you outright.

Which coincidentally explains why I only wore a waistcoat to work on one single occasion.
