    I have the case type. It works fine for running and with the Rubitrack app it syncs nicely between Mac and Phone. Talks to my garmin HR strap ok and no real problems. Major thing is to let the phone get a fix on GPS before heading off.

    You can probably pick up an Edge 500 for not much more, clever idea, but too pricey IMO.

    True, but the main appeal was that I’ll be taking the phone anyway so don’t NEED to buy an extra device. Also, I can get HR strap, cadence/speed and the case type for £120. Not sure if I can get an Edge 500 for anywhere near that price.
