Via the company ride to work scheme for commuting and messing about in the hills.

Only going to cost me £428!

I’m so excited that I may wee. 😯

However, I’ve got to work out how I’m going to fit 5 adult and 2 kid’s bikes in a 6×4 shed.

    That looks nice.

Kids in the shed, bikes in the house?

    Or possibly a bigger shed?

only going to cost £428….. Yeah and the rest, c2w is pretty much the worst way to get a bike now (IMO)…

But enjoy your new bike. Looks very nice.

…and if the missus comlains…there’s always the living room…

If I told my missus to sleep in the living room I’d get a clatter 😛

    Do tell.

In house company scheme administered by me. No 3rd party charges.

Bike a 2010 model so it was already discounted. The 2011 verson is £699.

    triple? tsk tsk

I know 😳 But I couldn’t be too fussy when buying old stock. It was either this or something with a 2300 rear mech which has those slightly too big jockey wheels.

In That case I take it all back (and good on you sir).
My own employer and just about everyone elses that I’ve spoken to have “issues” with massively varied final valuation fees and chosen scheme operators, the costs soon make it a pretty un-attractive way to fund a bike…

Next time I’ll just save up and buy the thing outright, or find a different employer… you got any jobs going?

Arthur ‘Two Sheds’ Jackson. It was his nickname, but the music was the important thing.

Anyway, you can’t keep road bikes and MTB’s in the same shed. They either fight or you end up with loads of little unwanted hybrids.
That’s why you always see them drowned in the canal.

Offer to do it yourself. Doddle to set it up as long as your company payrole and purchasing departments are onboard.

I only realised last year, when my accountant went through my accounts (own small co.), that the Ti Brompton I’d bought on C2W had been FREE!

Basically, as the only shareholder, and an “employee”, the net cost of the bike was offset against that years corporation tax bill….

    Brilliant!

The C2W final values that came through the mail in the last couple of days has pretty much soured my thoughts on the cyclescheme a wee bit. It certainly isn’t the massive saving that was portrayed at the outset. OK I appreciate that the final value isn’t known, but the way they changed the final values halfway through my setup was annoying.

    HMRC guidelines for final value.

Purchase price <£500 = 18% of purchase price.

Purchase price >£500 = 25% of purchase price.

Applied only to the bike. All other items have a zero value at the end of the hire period.
