Really looking forward to seeing this!

So I’m Brand BBC consultant okay. So what that involves is, it involves giving the BBC brand a unique footprint like a gotta-have-it takeaway.

Spacemonkey, North of the Palace? I don’t think so! 🙂 (Not in London any more, anyway, sadly!)

Ok, but tried a bit too hard. Hopefully will settle down in next episodes.

just more usual bbc navel gazing guff – “ooh look, let’s commission a comedy about ourselves”…

Better than Twenty Twelve, which showed everything in the first episode. I work in a technology company, and I recognize much of the same behaviour in many of my London based colleagues.

But I agree – the BBC laughing at itself is hardly new – and sort of says everything about a self-obsessed capital city and its media mouthpiece.

    Yentob Rushdie was surreal 😆

Would of missed this, thanks for heads up.

Immagonna reserve judgement till the next episode. It was funny, but nowhere near as good as I expected. The voiceover in 2012 was more like a reality TV documentary – whereas in this one, it was taking the piss as much as the script – which didn’t work for me.

Let’s hope this episode is better than last week’s. 🙂

Agreed, reign it in and don’t try too hard to be funny and it will work. Loved 2012 but first episode was only 6/10. Second episodes are usually better….we shall see!

    Well?

I liked it, but then I did last week. I’m just pleased I’m not the only person around who views corporate “culture” with a mixture of alarm, disgust and disbelief.

It was a better episode tonight to be fair. Less VoiceOver. More Siobhan. Totes.

Yes better tonight – an 8. Enough painful humour without using a brick in the face to deliver it.

I enjoyed that. 😀 As dd says, more Siobahn which is a good thing. Do chuckle at the silly ‘cool cool’ intern.

    Tis warming up nicely.

Asked a colleague who’s an ex-BBC producer* about it and his reply was “scarily accurate”.

I agree with DD (again – boring!) that it’s totes about Siobhan.

*now enjoys a job title similar to Ian Fletcher’s.

Bit disappointed really. There is nobody really cringeworthy, totally awful like a Brent, anti-hero like Malcolm Tucker or an “Everyman” type to contrast with the others. At the moment they’re all just really annoying: hopefully Bonneville’s character will have some kind of eruption, otherwise there’s too much gentle self-mocking in it for my taste. Will still watch, but BBC2 comedy has set the bar high.

I thought last week’s was better. I do love those meetings though. Mind you at least they get round a desk instead of sodding video conferencing.

Just caught up – how funny was it? 😆 Do hope that wasn’t the final episode, anyone know?

Yes , only four episodes. Curates egg IMO, not as good as 2012 but still funny. Tried a bit too hard at times – or maybe Auntie really is that bad?

Yes, Auntie really is that bad.
