What was the bloke who came across the track and hit a bale doing? Looks like carnage

Was the corner littered with tacks or oil? Bonkers number of casualties!

there was already carnage on & just before the corner. I assume he’d had to go to the inside to aviod the/a crash

I happened to cycle past one of these Red Hook Crits in Greenwich. We stayed around and watched with a few beers. It was very entertaining but looked lethal!
