Well- tonight was pretty, but nothing compared to the St Helen's and Pinatubo eruptions. No pics I'm afraid. Maybe tommorrow will be better.

And as well as the pretty skies, Mrs Ambrose is stranded in France on a late skiing deal- so more beer and crisps nights in front of the TV for me it is then 🙂

The bits through the clouds in the high peak were very orange.

Sunset here was a bit odd looking, seemed sort of tiered/layered, but I've seen weirder so it might not have been anything to do with the volcano. Quite nice anyway.

It was stunning from Rivi. We were descending the shoulder of Winter hill and Stopped to watch the Big Red Ball sink over the Irish Sea.

The Met Office bloke on BBC West of England reckons it'll be over the next couple of days before the effects start to show up. Allegedly. Hope so, skies are pretty clear down here over the weekend.

Unless you live in North Scotland – you are not going to see any sort of volcanic changes to the sun yet …

I've seen dusty sunsets before – dust storms in the Sahara can do that too.

Down here in Farnborough, it was lovely but pretty normal.
