My grandfather died recently and we've been going through the process of clearing out 60 odd years of stuff.

One of the more amusing finds is a shelf-full of late '50s/early '60s smut. Can't really be called porn by modern standards as it's all very tasteful arty/sculptural poses and anything possibly resembling body hair and/or lady bits has been airbrushed out. "Kamera" (Harrison Marks) seemed to be a particular favourite.

As there's several hundred of these and they're in pretty good nick, it seems a bit of a shame to simply chuck them in recycling. Anybody know if they're worth anything? If you don't want to admit that publicly, then email is in profile!

I reckon there's a fair market for that kind of stuff.

As much as I hate to even mention never mind recommend it, ebay would be the best bet for something like that.

Jon, try a couple of retro poster/sci-fi shops. I remember seeing a few such publications in the one in Birmingham

WHICH I WAS IN WITH A MATE BUYING POSTERS FOR A STUDENT FLAT, not rob zombie figurines 🙄

Collector's item! If you want to make some money sell them on Ebay or find a dealer. If you're feeling charitable you could always offer to a university library somewhere. Seriously–the sort of thing that historians will 'work' in (and have already written about). Definitely definitely definitely don't chuck though!

ebay might give you an idea

sadly my mother had enough of my 10 year old collection of Bike, Superbike, What Bike, Motor Cycle Mechanics, Auto Car, Motor, MotorSport etc etc that I'd left behind 30 or so years ago when flying the nest, and neatly restructured it for me (plus issued an ultimatium about them being relocated to my house) – how happy she looked when she showed me the neatly stacked and organised piles and the 'oh, I found these in amongst your bike and car magazines' … ho hum…..

    I say, ding, dong!

Must be specialist outlets for this sort of thing. I'd google for info, but not whilst I'm at work.

    Tissues anyone?

eBay does have items of that nature on it, and people do bid on them, but I would imagine you have to be a bit careful not to get your auction pulled – i.e. no norks in the accompanying photos.

I was duped by a normally honest mate into bidding on a yellowed (I presume due to age) Sun Page 3 from 1982 😳 but fortunately I was then outbid and it finished for around a fiver. 😯

At our last place I found a small pile of late 60's/early 70's Playboys in one corner of the loft. Would have left them for posterity (posterior?), but the ignorant tart* buying the place had 'plans' for the place as she rudely put it, so they'd have go binned.

The removals guys found it amusing 😉

*my OH would probably be less kind..
