Nope, doesn’t look stuck, I’ve driven over worse terrain than that.

What I don’t understand is the ‘small minded’ comment? it seemed such a small minded thing to say 😕

Scrap is worth money these days, no point dumping it in the countryside.

“It’s such a dangerous thing to do you would never see a 4×4 that far up,” he explained.

Ian Henderson of Llanberis Mountain Rescue said the emergency services or national park officers would never attempt to drive up Snowdon.

    really?
the walking path from llanberis is a motorway. While it would make you a **** to drive up on the bridlepath, it wouldnt be that difficult would it?

i think its a smashing way of saving a few bob, its probably cheaper to buy an old banger frontera and drive it up, jump on yer bike for the way back down as a train ticket to the top for two adults and two kids is £100

They drove it up the rail track…got to be the easiest way up in a vehicle…

Moreover, never mind how they got it up there, but how did they start the thing in the first place? It’s a Frontera FFS – just about the only 4wd that you would expect to spend more time off road (in the garage) than a Land Rover…

EDIT: Looks like Fronterras aren’t the only strange vehicles (trains excepted, of course 🙄 ): http://snowdonsplendour.co.uk/wyddfa01a.html

The driver has been traced he is from Gloucestershire, and drove up at 4.00am, and was seen by the train drivers at 7.00am.

Now he has a problem getting it back down.

Clearly it’s only safe to travel up there on a victorian built coal fired tractor with smooth iron wheels and a toll fare of £25 per person…………

    Commercialism at it’s best

Lol at this, man drives ‘pimped’ 😆 Frontera up mountain gets ‘stuck’ (it broke down) and then has to dump it.
Would have loved to be a fly on the dashboard when they reailised this had been a bad idea
Wonder what the recovery bill will be ?

What, like get a few hikers to give a hand bumping it round to point the other way, then driving it down again? Maybe three quid for some Kendal Mint Cake for the hikers and a fiver for a can of petrol?

Getting it down is easy. Getting it down and it still conforming to a loose descrition of a automobile is the hard part!

i reckon he realised he had to go back down the traintracks and the trains had started – find a safe place to ditch it – hope no one notices it and then come back for it another time ….
