Looking at getting a Trafic combi as daily runner and weekend camping bike van. As it’ll be a registered combi with seats in the back, if I take them out and put a bed in, will this count as a modification? I had trouble last year trying to get insurance for a work van which had been modified, most companies were not interested.
    Cheers!

Both do a lot of VW conversions so might be able to help.

Go to a comparison site and the van section. Enter details and you will find loads of van insurance people. They are very common just sometimes a different department to the car people.

I went with NFU and told them of the mods(windows, removable seats, removed bulkhead). They were happy with all of that.

Use direct line and NFU, both have not had a problem with those sort of mods. direct line cheaper, NFU nicer/easier to deal with, have one on each.
