I bought a set of second hand lyriks plus spare spring off here and am confused about the springs.

How do i visually tell what springs are which, i know they are coloured depending on softness / firmness but which part is coloured, or is the colour of the whole spring like the boxxer springs are?

Found this guide, which looks like the spare spring i have, would this be a black spring then?

ive no 24mm sprocket tool, is there anyway to work out which is fitted without this tool?

    thanks in advance,

On my pike and recons there’s a splodge of paint – somewhere I forget where, no spare springs so can’t look. Red is med, blue i think, is firm, yellow is soft iirc.

    thanks.
The colours for the lyriks, black, extrafirm, white – extra soft, blue-firm, soft-yellow, medium-red.
    but wheres the colour part?

It’s “painted” onto the spring itself.

Looks like someone has just taken a quick swipe at it with a paint brush.

    Can be hard to see.

thanks FieldMarshall, the red paint was mostly worn away so hardly noticeable.
