I’ve got a perfectly serviceable x9 shifter but am going to use it with a double chainset and mech. Any good way to do this?

Wind in the upper limit screw, so it can’t go past the middle (outer) ring?

It’s a triple shifter though which two of the gears do I set up and which do I leave out?

I just used to set the lowest gear on the shifter as the lowest on the mech. Your limit screw up top should stop it over shifting.

*I think* that the shift from middle to big ring is more suited to a double than the granny to middle. I have no idea why other than I read it on here somewhere in relation to the little switch thing that shimano use to turn triple shifters into doubles.

    triple shifter
    triple mech
    double chainset

    Will it work?
