Would it work? Any potential issues other than divorce?

Done it, works quite well but not perfectly clean IME.

I think the DW tablets are pretty aggressive too – can strip anodising off. I’ll look up my old thread.

I would strongly expect not to be able to ride a bike for a few days if the wife caught me at that.

She didn’t actually do that, she dreamt she had done this and had to get up in the middle of the night to see if she had or hadn’t done it.

Stupid question… Do you do a load of bike parts on their own, or do you chuck your chain in with the plates?!

Just fill a bucket with boiling water, drop all the gunked up parts and a dishwasher tablet in.
When it get to hand hot, just give everything a scrub.

    Don’t forget to rinse well

Just in case it isn’t already obvious, don’t go putting your hand into a bucket of hot water and dishwasher tabs without gloves on. That stuff is meant to dissolve flesh

If you have bits of meat left on a plate that you put into a dishwasher, you don’t see them in the filter after but it does take an hour or so.

Even worse are the restaurant grade ones that do a wash in 90 secs 😯

Worked a treat for uncontaminating brake discs, number 2 cycle – no idea what that involves but it’s the one my wife tells me to always use 🙂

Used to put stuff through an industrial dish washer at where I used to work, 90 degrees and detergent that takes hairs off, 2 min including rinse cycle.
