    If you run raceblades on your road bike, you can cut a couple of inches and slide them up the front forks prior to mounting. Helps prevent scratches.

    Lashing my canoe together. And this is not a bodge.
    I have an outrigger canoe and use old innertubes to lash the float to the cross members and the cross members to the canoe. It does it really firmly but does have that little bit of give required when on the ocean and the boat is riding he waves. Like so….

    I’ve used them as a fake oesphagus when making a ‘Giant Digestive Tract’ model for pupils. You can mimic peristalsis and everything.
