ok so it will reduce the braking area and you will prob end up not wearing the edge of the brake pads down but will it have any other effects?

you will die.

No it's fine. Just check the pads every now and again to check there's no step forming.

Er yeah, should have pointed out that you willdie though

If a step forms, boths steps will meet as the lever is pulled thus the pad not making proper contact with the disc, then you'll die. I wouldn't bother!
Or change your brake mount if its a PM to IS its easily done.Posted 2 years ago # -
Well I got some Hope Mini's of the forum for a friend but now I have got them they are very tempting to keep but I dont want to have to change my discs as well...seem so much better than my LX's!

you wont get a step forming when switching from 203 to 205 of vice versa.
running a 200 instead of a 205 might...

Surely just check where your pads are contacting the 205 at the moment, if it's 1mm inboard from the outer diameter of the disc, then you'll be fine as all the pad will still make contact on the 203?

quite. and if it isnt 1mm in from the disc edge id be very suprised.

Switch to a 200mm mount, then put shims under the screws to position the caliper for 203mm or 205mm... works with all mount types, hope, avid etc.
