Hi all, just registered, thought I’d start a new topic…

Who are the new up ‘n’ coming homegrown companies to watch for 2011?

Moda Cycles – the MTB range is a bit ropey at the minute, but their road-bikes have been getting very goog reviews…

Do you mean manufacturers or suppliers?

There are two companies that import stuff that are still relatively small. Superstarcomponent and Discobrakes. I know very little about disco brakes other than I like the pads. Superstarcomponents are growing rapidly increasing the product range all the time. They had some initial bad press but they seem to be putting that behind them from what I’ve read on other forums. I’ve had some stuff and I’m impressed. Think my next set of wheels will be coming from them. It’s not UK made though just bought in the far east and branded. It’s the bling stuff at low prices that makes them popular.

I’d love to know about clothes manufacturers. I’m always pretty impressed by cycle-clothing.co.uk stuff given it cost far less than the competition. Would consider it low end though good enough for everyday riding but not my Sunday (club run) best.

Finisterre is nice stuff, ordered something else yesterday! They have occasional sales and special offers if you are on there mailing list.

I have also had excellent service from these guys over the last 18 months, again sale page is worth looking at and sometimes free shipping if you go via Road.cc:

Not used this company but road.cc have reviewed there products well, sort of Rapha without the pricetag.

Torm – the stuff is a bit plain, sorry classic. Nice retro look, but needs a bit of oomph in their range.

Affordable though, £50 for a LS wool jersey is alright.

The Torm stuff wouldn’t look out of place on sale in Aldi 🙂
