I am away from home for a while. I have little calling credit. It should probably be stated that Mrs MR is both (naturally) blonde and a (naturalised) American. I forgave her for both of these things as she forgives me for my many shortcomings, including brutal sarcasm (if it slips by noticed). She texts a lot. We text edeach other this morning about me acquiring:

1 x rug for the kitchen
1 x rug for the ‘poobicle’ (the tiny toilet room)

What ensued can only be described as a ‘wake-up call’ – just 14.5 years too late. Holy ****. WWYD?

There will be no rug in the poobicle. Because:

1. Door opens inwards. I’m not shaving the bottom off the door.
2. Rugs do not belong in toilets.

I shall break this news to her (again) once latest rug flap has damped down. Not today. I’ve learned a lot from yesterdays experience:

– A ‘croc’ is a unit of measurement. (Apparently, 1 croc = 2 feet)
– ‘Crack off!’ is an insult.
– ‘buyer’s remorse’ is most often experienced once you have walked a long way from the boot sale.
