Can it be done? I can see the shifting being a problem, hacking the shifter switch etc.

    Anyone running anything similar?

Think k-edge in USA do some sort of odd mtb mods to di2
But seem to remember its right costly

The road bike stuff won’t work with an mtb cassette as standard

It can be done, the issue is not being able to use a big range cassette.

That’s due to cable pull and cage capacity rather than spacing.

No-one will be surprised when XTR Di2 appears.

Long cage off a mechanical ultegra mech fits straight on and a longer B-tension screw is good for up to a 34t.The bigger issue is that unlike Da7900 Di2 you can’t run it without the the front mech (unless you hack the electronics out of it I suppose).

During the tdf sky used a xtr yumeya cage on a di2 mech to allow Bradley wiggins to use an mtb rear cassette. There was an article about it on road.cc I think

Update.I looked into this and got my info from Madison tech. However I just found this

Is this possible with Ultegra Ui2 or do I need to use a front derailleur for it to work? From: Andrew
Unlike Dura-Ace Di2, the new electronic Ultegra group does not house the brains of the system in the front derailleur. According to Chad at Shimano American, each component has a chip built into it to guide its function independent of the other parts. This makes it possible to use a 1×10 setup with only a right shifter if you so desire.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Now it’s just a question of waiting till we get proper xtr di2
    Or making your own up.

Or maybe more a question of dura ace stock availability in the uk
