    update! car fixed

    was EGR valve, broken resistors/sensor/inside of it causing a short – when it was unplugged car worked all day long, when they put it back it failed, they got a new one and installed it yesterday, worked all day long.

    a big bill but not as big as new ecu !

    thanks for all your help – perhaps someone surfing for thier electrical faults will see this and get some ideas too!
