Any opinions on the Uberbike ceramic jockeys and how they compare to the KCNC alternative?

First thing is nearly half the price for Uberbike. I’ve used KCNC for some years now but one finally broke and I’d got a new mech on one bike so ran with the crappy SRAM stock ones until they died. Now want to get back to decent jockeys that shed mud properly, bearings that don’t seize up easily and don’t turn into throwing stars within a few months like SRAM’s do (which are not cheap anyway!).

KCNC ceramic however have doubled in price since I first got them. £45 for a pair now. ebay sources direct from Taiwan are cheaper but seem to be drying up, especially for ceramic and silver options. I’m wary also after I recall somewhere a warning about fakes about.

The Uberbike ones seem similar materials and design. Sadly they don’t do silver, but for half the price I can live with that.

I got some CNC’d ones allegedly with sealed bearings from Amazon for £7. No more expensive than the soft plastic SRAM that they are replacing and can’t be any worse. Haven’y put any miles on them yet but a spin around the close test says they’re OK…

I don’t suppose you’ve much to loose for £24, assuming you’re employed and things?

    I guess it’s the price of a few magazines….?

I have used these in the past, seem very good.
