    A definitive list, I’ll start….

Bontrager AW3 on Mavic Aksium, has taken my feeble thumbs an hour and a half to fit, and has cost so far; 3 inners (keep pinching them) and a park tyre lever (I have never in my life snapped a park tyre lever!)

It’s probably just one of those combinations, but Check the rim tape. I had a tyre I couldn’t fit, turned out the rim tape was too thick

Conti RQ’s were quite a hassle to fit on DT rims.

I’m finding Conti CX tyres quite tight on Wheelsmith rims – 30 mins and a punctured new tube. Suggestions welcome for slightly less tight brands.

Bonty xr4 TLR were a pig to mount on flows when new.
But refitting a month later after removal were not to bad.

I struggled (several punctures) to get some race tyres onto my road bike then watched a few Youtubes about doing it with no tools. Result!

Lots of stuff online about Geax Saguaro TNTs on Stans rims.

The non TNT versions are OK however and are fine tubeless.

at the other end of the scale – old michelin All Terrain 2.4’s on mavic 719’s, slacker than a fat slag from middlesborough who takes it up the wrong ‘un. that bad that i needed help to hold the tyre on the rim to inflate, and the tyre rotated under heavy braking ripping the valve off 6 times in one ride!

Schwalbe NN, WW or FA on a Sun EQ27 rim – absolute bloody nightmare to get on! Broken tyre levers, lots of sweating and plenty of swearing!

Hans Dampf on a Mavic cross roc was a but tight.

Used a tea spoon in the end as i’d killed both my tyre levers

For difficult tyres you just need to use the best natural rubber lubricant known to man:

Hans Dampfs on DT Swiss ex5.1d. Nigh on impossible with rim tape of any thickness, still really bad without tape. They’re fine on 729s though!
