looking to get some 2.25 maxxis ardents, using 2.35 rampages at the mo, want a similar high vol but faster rolling tyre. any others worth a look – but less than £30 each!

I've just swapped to an Ardent front Aspen rear combo on the 456. Fast as a fast thing in this current dry weather and still enough volume to rattle through the rubble.

I think an aspen may be bit toothless for scottish mud… the trails tend not to be fully dry…ever. I do have some trailrakers that I put on when things get too soft, but I need something with a bit of bite so it can be an allrounder.

The rampages are fantastic, but maybe a little slow and chunky.
