Have a 20mm (internal) rim on my commuting bike. Choice of 28mm tyres is much larger than the choice of 32mm tyres.

Sheldon says it is a bit too narrow, some other places say it is ok.

Anyone do it and have you had any problems?

I’m running 28mm conti gators on 19mm (internal) arch rims which acording to the ERTO or whatever they are, is the narrowest tyre you can fit on such a rim. Not sure 1mm will make that much difference.

I tried some Conti GP 4 Season 28mm on Mavic A119 rims (19mm).

5 pinch flats on my 45 mile round trip commute.

My GP4Ss are now on my winter roadie on Open Pros and have been faultless.

I went back to my bombproof but heavy and draggy Marathons for my commute.

Try it and good luck. Maybe my combo just didn’t work.

If that were me I’d stick Kojak 1.35s on it… Thought they were too light for commuting but yet to have a flat (on my 26er ons), quite impressed.

That’s running tyres too soft, nothing to do with the rims!
