I’ve recently had two hard crashes on very standard parts of trail, the second resulting in a stitch in my abdomen. Both crashes were caused by pedal strikes as a result of pedaling more after fitting a Hans Dampf which has noticeably reduced my rolling speed. I previously had a Mountain King but don’t feel they offer enough grip in corners and on steep climbs.

So its the classic catch 22, what rear tyre do people recommend for good cornering but faster rolling?

Does look a good option! Any drawbacks? Currently got a ST HR upfront, good combo?

Minion SS is goon in the dry and hard pack ground. Muddy climbs it will struggle, run one on and off through the semi when its dry enough. Trail centres with surfaced trails it will be fine year round.

Genuinely baked at the grip in the wet, not often overwhelmed.

Is it a new bike to you?
