I've been after one for a while and can't find a secondhand one for the right price. Originally I was afetr a magnetic one but found one of THESE. I've not come across fan ones before… do you think they're any good or is it likely to be rubbish?

Noisy but cheap. Go for it.

I have a TACX fan one. It's very very loud, but it does the job of what I want it for. I couldn't spend too much time on it due to the volume but then I couldn't anyway due to the boredom. The secret to turbo trainers in my opinion is short hard sessions.
Not a clue on if that one would be ok or not, but the TACX I got was slightly cheaper and is a good sturdy base.

It's on ebay at the moemnt for about 40 whihc I think may be a little steep. Got my eye on some others in the locality so will wait and see what's happening with those first.
