I’m running Maxxis Advantage UST on Mavic 223 rims with Stans rim strips.

All is properly sealed and has been running fine for several months, but noticed today that the tyre is not seated evenly such that the wheel has an apparent (outside) diameter 5mm greater at some points than at others – hence the wheel feels unbalanced. Looking at the rim-tyre interface there is a convenient line near the junction that is visible in some areas and hidden in others i.e. the tyre is seated higher in some places than others.

How can I get it to seat evenly?

Pump it up until it snaps on , 60-70 psi usually works . sometimes you can pump it to 60 and leave for 30 mins and come back and the tyre has seated itself . It is not unheard of for tyres to blow off the rim occasionally so stand to the side while pumping and don’t do it in your kitchen . 😀

Sounds exciting and a good chance of a sealant shower – yippee

Up to 60-70psi, no blow off, no big pops so left to settle fora while.
Some very clean bits of tyre now visible in places so having the desired effect I assume
