I have a 800 which I just use for basic functions, but I am getting a bit fed up of riding my usual routes so I am wanting to ride some new routes, I think I can import files into the unit but once I get the file in the unit, how do I know where to start from, for example I down load a file round mac forest and I have to drive there, how would I know where the start point is and how do I find it in the real world so to speak
    thanks

Mine asks if I want to navigate to the start point.

Can’t you just look at the route online and see where the start is before you drive out?

Bear in mind that “turn-by-turn” navigation only works if the maps you’re using knows about the roads/trails you’re trying to follow. The standard Garmin and OS maps don’t know about anything other than roads, so won’t do turn-by-turn navigation off road. You can still have the route show up on the map, you just don’t get beeps telling you when to turn.
