This was us driving up in May a few years ago, unfortunately it doesn’t give an idea of the gale force winds being experienced at the time. Enjoy!

The Torridon Inn was happy to feed us despite the fact we turned the place into a small lake.

In typical STW style I will ignore what you asked for and give you something else One picture will show what an absolutely stunning area it is but this video gives a better idea of the type of riding that is there , it is fairly technical in places and not for everybody.

I’ve only walked there and can’t link to pics. But I WILL ride there one day. Just a shame it’s a 12 hour drive….

My buddies and me had a great week there in august, there’s a decent hostel in applecross if you want somewhere inexpensive to stay near the garden restaurant. stop off enroute to do Ben Lomond, you’re at the mercy of the elements but if you’re lucky with the weather there’s nowhere like it!

    It looks awesome riding.

The 750 mile drive for a weekends biking seems excessive.

No don’t have a photo (as there was no way I was going to stop to take one) but the coire lair decent to achnashelach is absolutely the best bit of trail I’ve ever ridden.

If there is better riding than that I don’t think I could take it. There’s everything singletrack should have, grippy rock slabs, some drops, fast bits, tight bends. Just perfect.

Tomaso get up at 5am on the road for 6am Lunch in the Torridon Inn you know it makes sense.

Event sorted if anyone else wants to join us 14th to the 20th of April 🙂

My photos don’t do justice to it. I fell in love with the place despite bad weather and limited riding opportunities. Just go, it’s truly stunning.

Kinda agree with Tomaso. Great looking place to play, but far enough round from the Peak District I’d really be wanting to roll it into a holiday or some sort of carshare with a bunkhouse

postierich, the Whyte seems to have a dropper post with seat bag, what model of Alpkit is it and can you use the drop function with it and any tips on fitting, I’m new to backpacking and am trying to kit the bike I have (26″ Cotic Rocket) for the 100 Jenn Ride.

Great pictures on the thread. Motivated me to check google maps…… 10 hrs and 600 miles each way. Hmmm, maybe a bit much for a long weekend.

Brennack Did not use the dropper whilst bike packing and I used a cut down seat post to attach it to its the only seat pack Alpkit do.
Plan is to do Torridon for 4 days then do the Cairngorm Loop for 3 days!
