Day 3 out on the bike. He was chomping at the bit to go to ‘The Gallops’ – a nice wide grassy slope.
Last time we came here he simply bombed down the fall line on his (brakeless) balance bike.
Seems to have picked up the concept of brake-turn quite well!

The finale is classic though – proper proud (and sligtly
    scared) dad moment!
    😀

I almost feel bad at laughing, although your title did give me permission! If you cut the video a couple of seconds early he’s doing really well.

He’s a legend on the go – it’s the stopping he struggles with!
He’s quite petite for his age (Just turned 3) so can’t actually put both feet down when stopping.
It’s about 50:50 as to whether he comes to a controlled stop, or just topples…

On the street, I jog behind him and catch him when he’s about to drop!

Brilliant riding for a 3yo, well done both of you. My boy was well past 4 before he got to that sort of level (although that was at least partly due to The Broken Arm Incident and subsequent aftermath).

    Brilliant.

My nephew still had stabilizers at that age. His granny (my Mum) insisted he needed a proper bike as opposed to a balance bike.

I loved that. He just keeps peddling away lol

The fall at the end was a perfectly executed dismount.

I’d be incredibly proud if that was my child 🙂

    That’s a metaphor for my life…. ever-decreasing circles then a fall!

I think the best bit was when you was scared and shouted “pull your brakes…….PLEASE” then he crashed in to the sign (i think)

he is doing a sterling job. well done JnrP

Yeah – he slowed down, but not enough to avoid face planting the sign!

LOL – reminds me of my first ride on SPD’s – it was all going so well 🙂
Oh and a +1 on the Harry Hill suggestion!
