  • Triple ten speed crankset with 9 speed chain/ cassette- does it work?

Well I may well have had a beer or two before ordering, but I appear to have ordered a ten speed triple crankset rather than a 9 speed.
Anyone had experience/ knowledge of whether they work with a 9 speed shifter/ chain/cassette set up?

    That’ll be fine. I think.

Yep, it’ll be fine. The internal chain sizes are the same. Some chainring manufacturers like Blackspire specify the size as9 or 10 speed compatible, and the chain lines are the same. XT M770 triples are, or were, marketed in both flavours.

certainly works for me – both road & MTB triple chainsets are 10sp with 9 speed drive
