Having lived a relatively sheltered life I’m not very up to speed on hotels and travel. I want to take the missus and 3 year old child in dec this year, any recomendations on travel, accomodation or indeed destination??

P&O often do mini-cruises from Hull to the Christmas Markets

Brussels is quite good but I liked Aachen [in Germany] better
Both are very easy to get to on the train

let me know how much you get for them, I may do the same 😉

How are you thinking of travelling?

Gent is really nice & there is also a decent sized ice rink (linked by little train now).
Bruges is also pleasant with an ice rink. Lots of hotels, B&B’s around too as it is a common tourist destination.
Brussels Xmas market was OK last year but not the most pleasant of areas generally & certainly less child friendly.
Aachen I’ve never been to but I’ve also heard it’s a good one. Koln is certainly good.
