  • Trek warranty issue – return to same dealer?

    Hi all,

Got a Madone 4.5 from my local-bike-shop a few weeks back, but have since moved house.

After only 150 miles the BB90 bottom bracket has started squealing. Have taken the crank off and you can feel the roughness in the bearings. It’s definitely a warranty issue.

Now that I’ve moved, can I take the bike to a different Trek dealer to the one I bought it from to have warranty stuff done? It’s a long old trek (pun intended) back to my old bike shop.

    Cheers,
    Tom

Any Trek dealer would be able to get the parts on warranty for you but the labour would not be covered so you could expect to pay for that along with any postage charges.

Sort of as above. Your warranty is with the shop you got the bike from NOT with trek
But some brands are better than others at sorting this sort of thing out
