    It’s a Trek and it’s a 29er, so you can’t go wrong, really.

Even my bottom of the range Marlin (with upgraded drivetrain) is an absolute hoot, and brings a grin to my face on every ride. Had it for over 5 years and it hasn’t missed a beat.

Not got the 2016, got a 14/15 model and it’s been great. I’ve done a LOT of miles on it, and it’s pretty brisk over most terrain! Not done a single trail centre on it, but I would if I had the chance. It’s taken all the abuse I’ve thrown at it, and carried on (until a rock smashed the rear mech – good opportunity to go to Shimano kit)

It’s not the most ‘engaging/fun’ bike to run, but it’s very proficient.

EDIT : and a few weeks ago I did have a look at the procaliber with the “broken” frame that flexes and the chainstay design doesn’t look so wildly different –

That’s because the seat tube is designed to flex , the seat and chainstays don’t do anything unusual .

Well that would explain it, yes 🙂
