Ms Spanner fancies a Portland, but it would appear that Trek has decided not to import them to the UK for next year – it's in the USA brochure, in the road and urban sections, but not in the UK one.

She wants to buy from our local bike shop, which she trusts, so alternatives such as the Salsa Vaya/Kona Sutra aren't really viable.

Couple of questions:
1. Should a Trek main dealer be able to get hold of one for her?

2. Surely Trek are missing a trick here? This years bike got great reviews and it appears to fit neatly into the 'next big thing' road bikes/light tourer with discs category?

Yes, we will contact the shop and ask them ourselves, just wondered what others thought and whether anyone has had any experience of importing a non UK Trek.
