Trek EX8 Cane Creek headset bearing renewal kit

I have the 09 model and the headset bearing are a little "notchy"

Upon inspection it looks like other than the headset body the bearings are two units, one top one bottom (please exscuse my poor description)

Is it possible to buy these two bearings as a kit without replacing the body etc?

Yes you can buy the bearing on their own but you have to buy them from a Trek dealer. Both the upper and the lower bearings are specially chamfered so try to find an off the shelf alternative is impossible.

Be prepared for £20 a bearing!
