I have decided to buy a treadmill and am looking for recommendations. I know a lot of people are not keen on them but the mrs really wants one and is reluctant to go out running on her own at night in the dark where we live as there are no street lights and it is a narrow road with no pavements. I appreciate the shortcomings of treadmills against actual outside running on a road or trail but she wants to get back into running again, building up slowly and feels a treadmill will be the answer. I would also plan to use it over the winter when the weather is a bit grim for running outside on icy untreated roads.

It would live in our unheated garage so would need to cope with a bit of damp. The budget is around £1,100-1,200.

Has anybody got any suggestions for what to buy?
