Took part in the Three Peaks Classic Yesterday, Did the Gran Fondo 80 miler !! 5 miles from the end and crunch! The chain came off the big ring wrapped round my pedal and ripped the Ultegra rear mech in half, bending the hanger in the process. So ended up making my bike into a single speed to finish. However 1 mile from the finish the chain ring bolts sheared under the pressure so I had to run to the finish, 5:24 with the mechanical very chuffed with that considering!
In all new hanger, new chain, new rear mech, new chain ring bolts £100 for a incident that took a nano second. But hey at least I finished. Anyone else do the three peaks classic yesterday, what did you think of the route?
