he said to keep stretching my neck daily but other than that nowt he can do. Ive been twice for same thing it happens around twice a year. So thought id go and pay to have it looked at but so many people offering different things dunno where to start

Decent Sport phsyio or chiro.
Has the cause been diagnosed? as long as it is not disc related you should be able to have it sorted quickly.

playing volley ball a few years ago i came down falling backwards and landed on my heels my neck snapped back and legs gave way and its been bad since. I get a pain under my shoulder blade that if i can stretch it out by moving my neck feels like something pulls my spine and pops something free and pain goes . If i cant get it out it causes pain up to the side me my neck and its agony for a week then goes away. If that makes any sense. Sorry for the lack of punctuation im on my phone

Is it a trapped nerve or is it spondylosis, in which case his diagnosis and treatment may be correct.

osteopath, i have exactly the same symptoms as you quite regularly and a trip always sorts it out. don't leave it to long as your muscles will adapt to the change and make it harder to correct.
osteopaths aren't for everybody mind.

I saw a physio for a trapped nerve in my back a few years back. My GP was only interested in recommending anti inflammatory or analgaesics.
The physio took about 6 visits to sort. Could only treat every second week as it was quite "hard work" following the manipulation. And he stated that it was too intense to do more often.
I've seen a chiro in the past but do think that in the case of the trapped nerve that the physio was the right route.

I used the physio here last time my back was playing up and they were very good http://www.physioworld.co.uk/

Are you 100% sure it is a trapped nerve - what i (and my useless tosser of a GP - go home take pain killers and come back in a week if its not better - and before i get slaughtered for this anti GP statement i know they are not all as bad as mine)thought was a trapped nerve was sorted with 2 visits to a good osteopath. I asked around and got a good recommendation. The best £80 iv'e spent in a long time.
