Ride all winter on a road bike and your MTB and take up running.

If it’s in a few months, running’s a good way to get fit quick and can be done in a snatched half hour, like a lunch break. I run home from work. A half hour is plenty.

Then just ride you bike more- to work, in an evening. whenever.

I run like an epileptic chicken 😯 It’s not good and it takes me three weeks to recover from a 3km run.

Don’t go hard. Go at a comfortable pace. it’ll do wonders for your cardio. One way to do it is run 30 seconds, then rest 30s and repeat for half an hour, then as you feel fitter go 40/20, 50/10 then a full half hour run.
