I’ve downloaded a sample of Tracklogs and it seems ok for what i want. Which is simply an OS map on my laptop. I don’t use a GPS, i just want a digital map to plan routes and seek out new trails etc etc…

Is there anything better than Tracklogs for that? I’d quite like the whole of the UK, which seems quite expensive.

Have a look at the OS getamap service. There is a free version but I pay £20 a year for all of the UK at 1:50k and 1:25k with the most up-to-date mapping available. of course, you need to be online to use it…
