conti tour guides in a 47c are huge.

2″ Schwalbe Duremes on my Fargo, very good indeed

Conti tour ride cheap as chips indistructible but heavey mine were about 10 quid but they just wont die in flavours up to 47c

Mrs S has just picked up some Conti Top Contact 2 folders for £33 from bike discount.de.

A bit heavier, slower and tougher than the Marathon Supremes I’ve been using for a couple of years.
Deep tread on the sides, continuous strip in the middle.

Will be interesting to see how they last.

Personally, if mostly on road I’d go with the Marathon Supremes.

Used Panaracer Paselas in various flavours for ages before switching to Schwalbe.
The Schwalbes are nicer.

I’d avoid anything cheapwith a low tpi – will feel really slow

The 38mm (40-700) must be pretty big. I’m a big apple fan but these have kept me happy as well

http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/ suggests the Almotion should be good, but I can’t help but wonder if that low rolling resistance is going to be neutered by the tyre weight (the TL easy 2.0 comes in at 810g and the 2.15 version 910g according to https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/marathon-almotion.html , which is a lot heavier than the non-TL easy version tested by BRR).

Going on how well I found the 26″ version to roll, I’d expect Landcruisers to be decent, despite their weight.

I’ve not used them much, but I’ve found the re-badged Vee Speedsters sold at PX to roll pretty well for 2.3″ tyres at ~780g.

Ditto – I’ve been using them on my commuting bike for the last three years – very durable, roll well, not too heavy. They size up big.
