I am thinking I might cycle to mid france next year to see my brother who lives there, I have a few probs though

my bike is a spicy 516 so not very light but I do like it, so because its a full sus panniers are out the window, so I am thinking it would be some kind of trailer

tyres no to big a deal as I would asume somthing slick/ semi slick

I dont have the money to change or buy another bike,

    any advice would be great

    thanks

    This is a great idea.

However riding all that way on a full sus is not going to be fun. You could pick up an old Kona HT for < £100.

Just take your time – it will be fine. slicks and firm the suspension up a bit. Maybe some bar ends. I have done loads of touring on MTBs admittedly hardtails
