The Keighley Road was being given a smooth top coat on the brow of the hill before Haworth.

Anyone else enjoyed a nice new road surface in advance of Le Tour?

Did stage one a few weeks ago and in the dales it was like being the queen. New paint and Tarmac everywhere. The climb up buttertubs is particularly smooth except the cats eyes which where like speed bumps 😯

Run in to Harrogate still a mess. Some really random drains and manholes even by standards of uk roads. I cringed thinking about a full tdf peleton piling over those.

They’ve still got a few months… I reckon that putting tarmac down before the winter the weather is over can destroy the good work (yes, it’s fine right now but last year it wasn’t).

Are they lowering the road under the finish banner for the Orica Green Edge bus?
