I'm happy if things turn out genuine, but it's the curtain twitchers that report most genuine crime. People that are doing nothing wrong at the end of the day have nothing to worry about other than being observed going about their business.
Given the amount of stolen stuff that disappears, it pays to keep your eyes open and make a noise if a bit suspicious. If my bike got nicked and turned up on ebay, I'd be more than happy if some weirdo nosey curtain twitcher spotted it on there and only thought it was weird because of a fork swap over.oh, decal on fork on wrongway - not technically a crime, but.

For £2k I'd at least want some research into the correct placement of the decals following a new paint job.
WTF is a shope?
Ye olde???
Could be it's a stolen bike. Odd spec with Marz forks, dropper post, single ring but long cage mech
Good one. WTF is wrong with that?
Dave (Blur 4X owner. With a dropper seatpost. And a 1x9 setup. With a long cage mech. And it did have Marzocchis on until I went Magura, then Fox. Which makes me a crook. Apparently.)

I have to confess I had 100 mm Manitou R7s on my Cove Stiffee for a couple of rides (didn't have the intended fork to hand). It turned a really nice frame into something fairly unremarkable. Now that was criminal.

But this was never crime, the OP was apoplectic at the fact the advert contained a quote referring to a newer version of the bike
