I had the numbers written down but can’t find them now. Does anyone know the torque for a square taper BB shimano? Thanks

For the cranks onto the spindle – about 40 to 45 Nm.

For best results put them on at that torque and then sprint up and down the road putting pressure on the cranks, rechecking the torque each time until it doesn’t need tightening anymore.

And don’t use grease/oil to put them on.

As tight as you can reasonably manage (try a bit harder on the BB) with std tools has done me OK for several decades.

Re tighten LH crank after a few hours riding.
