What's the accepted wisdom? I have a tear approx 10mm in my rear Ardent sidewall, but it's otherwise a bit too new to feel happy about throwing away. Do peeps happily and knowingly ride on tyres with sidewall tears, or is it asking for trouble? Not been out for a while due to injury so don't want my first ride in weeks ruined.
Torn sidewall - new tyre time or risk it?
Maxis sidewalls have gone proper flimsy, did the same to a cross mark recently and near new! Tread 90%, threads showing on side wall, time to ditch maxxis I'm thinking, however the 2.4 advantages do come with rubber on the sidewalls!
You could try a tyre boot, stitch it and superglue
If it's only a small tear, and it's a rear tyre.....
Cut a small patch of sidewall from an old tyre and stuff it inside your tyre...that's what I do!
